Haultain writes to William Wallace of Omaha, Nebraska, reacting to Wallace's letter concerning Haultain's article on fiction in libraries. Haultain thinks that libraries are too quick to buy mediocre current fiction: "This passion for ephemeral fiction is becoming a plague," says Haultain.
